Rules

Registrations for the competitions are open from 17/12/2024 and will close on 31/01/2025.

Registration for the competition must be done through the website www.the-european-open.dance, in the Enter NOW section.

From the 2025 edition, an important protocol has been formalized between EDO & WDO, establishing that the majority European WDO titles will be included in the week of “The European Open”.

While all “The European Open” Competitions will be subject to and respect the EDO rules, for all European WDO titles, the rules on the website www.worlddanceorganisation.com must be respected, in fact for the WDO titles there is an obligation to have a WDO license for both competitors and judges valid for the current year.

– For all competitions under the title THE EUROPEAN OPEN:

Each competitor has the possibility to register for multiple competitions, respecting the right to participate dictated by the year of birth and the category and class (where there is a faculty) but not exceeding more than one category (ex. U14 can in U16 but not in U19).

All categories for all competitions are considered eligible if (example):
Under 16 (not 16 years old at the time of the competition)
Over 16 (16 years old at the time of the competition)

Clothing and programs are open in the open categories from U14 and up, while U8, U10, U12 have mandatory programs and mandatory uniform.

The European Open Follows the BDSA rules in terms of limited programs and in terms of BMP dance regulations, and not ultimately the behavior of the dancers and judges.

For the Pro-Am sections the age groups are:

ProAm Teen – Under 19yo

ProAm A – 19 to 35yo

ProAm B – 36 to 50yo

ProAm C – 50+ yo
